Yoga is a beautiful journey.
It grounds us, it makes us stronger, our bodies feel delightful after a good one hour practice. But also mentally you feel more free, more relaxed and even stronger and ready to fight with the obstacles life puts in front of you. An experience that has so many benefits and yet you only need your body and a quiet & peaceful location to practice this. Nothing else required.
Of course we cant deny the benefits of practicing with a leading teacher where you feel secure and enhance your knowledge of asanas and breathing techniques. With the group ofother students around you , you calibrate your breathes and mindsets and enjoy a solitary but also a shared journey. And especially if you are trying to enhance your practice and learn arm balances, inversions it is great to be in the secure hands of a teacher.
But as yoga is here only to serve your body and wellbeing, one of the beauty is you can do it anywhere at all you want.
You can practice in a suitable, comfortable room in your house where you can build your own temple -or gym.
But you can easily take your practice to outdoors. As science proves, exercising outdoor in the arms of mother nature has a positive impact on your mood and also helps to regulate yourblood flow. The colours of green and blue soothes our mind, the sun invigorates our spirit. Aswell as increasing our Vitamin D. Fresh air improves our lungs. Better quality and cleaner oxygen intake impacts all our system. Focusing to a part of nature can help you to go deeper in your meditation. The songs of the birds can be your natural chanting. Feeling the air the wind in your hair and skin will stroke your spirit and walking barefoot on the ground, you will feel closer to the one Mother Nature. And while she takes in your negative energy, you will feel more solid, grounded and stronger.
When you practice in nature you will feel that feeling of ‘union’ with universe deeply.
Practicing outdoors increases your balance as well. Now as you are not on your mat in a slid, levelled studio. The uneven surface of nature will help you to force yourself to develop balance. Learning the skills of balancing in an uneven place will improve your practice and your body will get stronger.
And if you are working in an office environment, especially sitting at a desk for lingering hours, you can bring yoga to your workspace.
Using your chair or desk or a close wall as your prop you can add some basic movements and postures and spraying them in your day will help you to feel more active and will reduce the hazards of sitting or being in a certain posture for too long.
